Reading, Writing – Telling Stories About Me!
AAUW Detroit is proud to announce its new book club program “Reading, Writing – Telling Stories About Me!” Designed with middle and high girls in mind, the book club is a gathering space where the lives and experiences of girls from diverse backgrounds are celebrated and explored through books and storytelling.
Our reading list includes “Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl” by Harriet Jacobs, “Momma’s Got Rhythm and Daddy’s Got Rhyme” by Robin Morris, “Please Stop Laughing At Me”, by Jodee Blanco, “The Girlz of Galstanberry”, by Garen S. Wolff and “Kira-Kira”, by Cynthia Kadohata
