Chelsea Carter – AAUW Detroit Branch Speech Trek Contestant

Chelsea Carter is a senior at North Farmington High School who will be attending college in the fall of 2015. Her long-term goals include (1) graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and a minor in Business Administration, (2) obtaining a Master’s in Business Administration, (3) obtaining a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, (4) working for the National Security Agency in Washington D.C. as a computer engineer creating high-tech data systems to improve emergency services for citizens, and (5) establishing a foundation named STEM (Students Thinking, Explaining, and Mastering) to increase their interests in science, technology, engineering, and math by way of software developing, biomedical engineering, robotic experimentation, and other activities. She states, “Our technological leaders of tomorrow are our students in the classrooms today. Through STEM, children will discover intriguing ways to connect with math and science in their day-to-day observations.” READ MORE>>
