2014-15 AAUW of Michigan M. Jean Jokippi Speech Trek Competition
AAUW of Michigan’s Speech Trek is designed to help high school students develop public speaking skills and a knowledge about public policy issues. The 2014-15 AAUW of Michigan M. Jean Jokippi Speech Trek Competition is open to all AAUW of MI branches wishing to host an event in their local community. Speech Trek is open to all high school students.
The competition runs September 17, 2014 thru February 3, 2015. Branch student finalists must submit their speeches to AAUW of Michigan by February 1, 2015 to qualify for the state runoff. A panel of judges will evaluate and choose the state winner. Second and third place winners in the state runoff will receive honorable mention certificates.

The 2014-15 Speech Trek Winner is invited to attend and give his/her winning speech at the state convention on Saturday, May 16, 2015
First Place State Winner receives:
$500 grand prize
Accommodations for the winner and parent or guardian (1 night stay) plus mileage (.30/mile) to Island Resort & Casino in Harris, MI
Certificate of recognition
